Santa Clara island

Few cities are fortunate enough to have an island in the middle of their bay; San Sebastian is one of these lucky ones. You can enjoy its small beach; take a stroll from the landing stage to the unusual lighthouse building; walk along footpaths with their open-air cafés… Its closeness to the beaches that line the Bay mean that it’s also possible to swim out to the island all year round. And with the strong tides of autumn there are people who have managed to walk out to the Island at low tide. From the Island you can enjoy a very special view of the city.

How does one get to the island?

During the summer a motor launch service departs the port bound for the island’s landing stage every half an hour.
